When you attend one of our informative fun events, you’ll learn some facts and stats about heart disease, risk factors and more, but most importantly you’ll learn the how-to’s of heart health.  We’ll share the tools to put YOU in charge of your health, so you’re doing everything possible to keep your heart strong and healthy for life.

Heart disease can be prevented when you make healthy choices
and manage your health conditions

  1. Eat a heart-healthy diet and control weight
  2. Exercise 4-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes
  3. Retain normal cholesterol and blood pressure levels
  4. Reduce inflammation
  5. Fill in the gaps with sensible supplements

EatyourveggiesOne of the best weapons for fighting off heart disease is an antioxidant rich diet that comes from eating at least five servings of fruits and veggies every day. Eat the rainbow! At least three bright colors on your plate at dinner … red, orange, and dark green as a starting point! Sneak these colorful gems into your snacks throughout the day. It’s easier than you think! Carrot and celery sticks with hummus or cucumber slices dipped in ranch dressing.

Eat salmon or other omega-3-rich fish at least two or three times per week. If you don’t like fish, don’t stress—research shows that fish oil supplements can help reduce your risk of heart disease, as well as help to lower your levels of triglycerides and blood pressure. Choose other sources of lean meat protein and quality vegetable sources such as non-GMO soy. Reach for organic foods! Whoop!!!
